Cajun Seasoning

If you like your food spicy, and I do, a good Cajun seasoning blend is a must to have around the house. Around here, it gets added to meats, fish, eggs, veggies, pasta, and even ice cream.

A good Cajun blend should have enough heat to make things interesting without setting your hair on fire while heightening all of the good base characteristics of whatever you're adding it to: savory, a little sweet, tart, and fragrant. How much you add will determine how much it serves as a enhancer or as the center of attention, so a good blend of all of the best characteristics is key.

  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp ground black pepper

  • 1 Tbsp dried basil
  • 1 Tbsp dried thyme
